The Security Install Lead Technician is an experienced technician who leads individual jobs or multiple smaller, installation projects while actively performing field installation work. This role functions in a supervisory capacity and is responsible for advanced installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. The Lead Technician provides job site leadership, supports crew coordination, and ensures quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform advanced installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.
Lead individual jobs or multiple smaller installation projects while actively performing technical field work.
Coordinate daily job site activities and support field crews to ensure efficient project completion.
Diagnose and resolve complex installation issues in a timely and professional manner.
Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
Use hand tools and testing equipment safely and efficiently.
Provide guidance, training, and field support to technicians, apprentices, and entry-level employees.
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding job progress and project status.
Complete installation documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
Travel to job sites as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
8+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as a technician or above.
Must have at least 3+ years experience in a lead or supervisory role.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
Ability to independently complete advanced installation work and lead field operations.
NICET Level II or above preferred.
Manufacturer certifications in security, access control, video surveillance, or integrated low-voltage systems preferred.

Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.

Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
