Overview:

The Senior Cost Accountant serves as a strategic finance partner at Omni International's manufacturing site in Kennesaw, Georgia. This onsite position combines operations finance, cost accounting, and customer billing responsibilities to support our manufacturing operations. 

This position leads site-level cost accounting while providing critical manufacturing support, financial reporting, and revenue management. Key responsibilities include directing the establishment and maintenance of corporate accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate fiscal records and timely financial reporting. The role encompasses developing and maintaining comprehensive planning and budgeting systems, managing site billing operations, and overseeing revenue reporting processes. 

The Senior Cost Accountant analyzes and interprets financial trends and operating results, evaluating costs, budgets, policies, and profit opportunities. They present findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership to drive informed decision-making. Additionally, this position establishes robust procedures and internal controls to ensure full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and corporate governance standards. 

This onsite role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise, operational finance acumen, and strong analytical capabilities to support Omni International's manufacturing and business operations at our Kennesaw, Georgia facility. 

Role and Responsibilities:

Cost Accounting:  

  • Management reporting 
  • Internal, External & SOX audit compliance 
  • Inventory reporting and control, Stock Check and Cyclic Counting 
  • Cost Accounting 
  • Operations reporting 
  • Supporting month end close processes 
  • Variance analysis 

 

Revenue Accounting:  

  • Supplier Invoicing 
  • Product Sales Analysis 
  • Sales Tax support 
  • Data analysis support 
  • Projects 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree AND a minimum of five years' experience in accounting within the manufacturing industry

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Advanced Analytical Capabilities: Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, variance analysis, and data interpretation to identify trends, cost drivers, and profit optimization opportunities
  • Comprehensive Accounting Expertise: Deep knowledge of general accounting principles, cost accounting methodologies, manufacturing accounting, and financial reporting standards at an advanced level
  • Exceptional Communication & Presentation Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to various audiences, including executive leadership; skilled in creating and delivering compellin presentations that drive decision-making
  • Strong Organizational & Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver accurate results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros), Microsoft Access (database management), and PowerPoint (executive-level presentations and data visualization)
  • Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing Experience: Hands-on experience implementing lean accounting principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimization in manufacturing settings
  • Specialized Software Knowledge: Experience with QuickBooks accounting software and Crystal Reports for custom reporting and data analysis

The base salary range for this full-time position is $67,500.00 - $90,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
