The IT Operations Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day delivery, support, and administration of the Company’s information technology environment. This position is the primary internal technical resource for employees across the Company’s offices and remote locations, providing end-user support, account and device administration, and routine systems administration in a cloud-based Microsoft 365 environment. The IT Operations Analyst executes the operational work behind the Company’s IT policies — provisioning, patching, backup verification, endpoint security, and incident first response — coordinates the Company’s outsourced service desk and technology vendors, and supports infrastructure projects, office moves, and the technology integration of newly acquired offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee technology support requests; triage, resolve, escalate, and document issues through closure.
  • Administer the Company’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and associated licensing.
  • Provision, modify, and disable user accounts, group memberships, and system access in accordance with the Company’s onboarding and offboarding procedures, executing access changes that have been approved by IT leadership.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and retire laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals using centralized endpoint management tooling.
  • Maintain endpoint security controls, including endpoint detection and response agents, device compliance and configuration policies, disk encryption, and multifactor authentication enrollment.
  • Apply operating system, application, and firmware updates on a defined schedule; track and remediate outstanding vulnerabilities and configuration gaps.
  • Monitor backup jobs, verify successful completion, and participate in periodic restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Provide first response for security alerts and suspected incidents, including triage, initial containment, escalation to the Director of Information Technology, and coordination with the Company’s managed detection and response provider.
  • Support office network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and internet circuits; coordinate with internet service providers on outages, upgrades, and new-office installations.
  • Assist remote and field staff with connectivity, remote access, VPN, and mobile device issues.
  • Maintain the IT asset inventory — hardware, software, licenses, and warranties — including asset tagging, naming standards, and secure disposal records.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including configuration records, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Coordinate day-to-day work with the Company’s outsourced IT service desk and technology vendors, and verify the quality and completeness of delegated work.
  • Assist with software evaluation, procurement, licensing, and centralized installation in accordance with Company approval processes.
  • Support technology projects, including system and tenant migrations, office relocations, hardware refreshes, and the IT integration of acquired offices.
  • Assist with the collection and retention of records and evidence supporting the Company’s information security and federal contracting compliance obligations.
  • Provide technology orientation and practical guidance to employees, and support delivery of security awareness training.
  • Follow and help uphold Company policies on information security, confidentiality, acceptable technology use, and data protection.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or IT operations, preferably as a generalist supporting an entire organization.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user, group, license, and access management.
  • Experience with centralized endpoint management and deployment, such as Microsoft Intune or a comparable platform.
  • Working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, endpoint security tooling, patch management, and backup and restore operations.
  • Practical networking knowledge sufficient to support office environments, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless, VPN, and firewall and ISP troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of identity and access management concepts, multifactor authentication, and least-privilege access.
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to organize technical information and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond effectively to urgent issues in a small-team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise sound professional judgment.
