Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Propeller Engineer II to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA.  In this role you will be responsible for the preliminary development and commercialization of marine propellers. Evaluation of existing products and development of new products from proof of concept through production.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop marine propellers for outboard engines through analysis of hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturability.
  • Coordination and planning of on-water testing and evaluation from proof of concept through production.
  • Coordination and planning of manufacturing preparation and design verification across multiple locations
  • Learn established development processes and assist with continuous process improvement to improve efficiency.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing consumer or industrial products.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marine industry product design preferred.
  • Proven experience in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience managing and executing projects from design to manufacturing.
  • Experience with CFD/FEA/formal optimization preferred.
  • Highly Skilled with 3D CAD tools like Solidworks, NX, CAESES, etc.
  • Programming in Matlab, C/C++, Python, etc.
  • Willingness to travel to Yamaha Motor Japan, suppliers, and testing sites as needed.
