Job Purpose 

Billing Specialist processes and tracks all billing for the RHC. 

Qualifications 

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent with previous work in billing activities; OR 
  • Associate Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business related environment preferred 
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills 

Core Job Duties 

  • Ensure all processes are done that pertain to billing for the entire RHC. 
  • Perform processes and track all RHC billing as scheduled. 
  • Act as a liaison between RHC Staff, Patients and the RHC Manager regarding issues that may interfere with accurate reimbursement of services rendered. 
  • Assist back-up billing with regular daily and monthly billing as needed. 
  • Assist the team with any concerns or questions that may arise. 
  • Research and investigate unbilled encounters.  Key entries in order to record various revenue. 
  • Cross trained in essential department job duties and functions. 
  • Participation at relevant site staff meetings and in-service training opportunities. 
  • Notifies RHC Manager regarding the status of deadlines and job duties. Give these updates in weekly meetings to all staff. 
  • Attention to detail is a high priority to ensure work tasks are being completed thoroughly and correctly. 
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. 
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. 
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the RHC’s certification (RHC,CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care. 
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures. 
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
