Job PurposeÂ
The Receptionist serves patients by greeting and assisting them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.Â
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalentÂ
- Experience in clerical functioning and receptionist duties, preferred
Core Job Duties
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Register/check-in patients for scheduled appointments and complete any necessary updates to patient’s chart.
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of the patient’s arrival.Â
- Answer telephones promptly and ensure in-coming lines are covered at all times.Â
- Ensure all voicemails received are checked and returned is necessary.Â
- Manage the inactive person served reports weekly.Â
- Schedule appointments and make adjustments, if necessary.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.Â
- Collect fees from patients for services rendered and prepare and make deposits.Â
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.Â
- Communicate any vital information to the Office Manager.Â
- Orally communicate information effectively and accuratelyÂ
- Keep work areas neat and clean.Â
- Ensure compliance with BHC Standards and other federal, state, and local regulations.Â
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
