Job Purpose

The RHC Nurse works under the direction of the Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner and will assist with the coordination of the Clinic’s daily activities.  The RHC Nurse also plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs. 

Qualifications          

  • LPN or RN with current MO license
  • Two years nursing experience 
  • Experience with healthcare technology, preferred.

Core Job Duties

  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit. 
  • Obtain patient vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms. 
  • Ensure hospital medical records, test results, current medication and dosages are available for the Physician or Nurse Practitioner for review. 
  • Administer injections of medications. 
  • Verify patient charts are updated promptly and accurately. 
  • Observe and records patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments. 
  • Call-in prescriptions and refill medications as needed and directed by the Physician or Nurse Practitioner. 
  • Submit and ensure pre-certification for testing/medical services are completed in a timely manner. 
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. 
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. 
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.                               
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
