Job Purpose
The RHC Nurse works under the direction of the Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner and will assist with the coordination of the Clinic’s daily activities. The RHC Nurse also plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
Qualifications
- LPN or RN with current MO license
- Two years nursing experience
- Experience with healthcare technology, preferred.
Core Job Duties
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
- Obtain patient vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms.
- Ensure hospital medical records, test results, current medication and dosages are available for the Physician or Nurse Practitioner for review.
- Administer injections of medications.
- Verify patient charts are updated promptly and accurately.
- Observe and records patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
- Call-in prescriptions and refill medications as needed and directed by the Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
- Submit and ensure pre-certification for testing/medical services are completed in a timely manner.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
