This includes installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of specialized equipment. Key responsibilities include: Performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, calibration, and repair on laboratory instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, and kiosk systems Conducting performance verification and equipment testing to ensure compliance and reliability Documenting service activities and managing work orders using EMSAR’s ServiceMax system Communicating with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate service calls Representing EMSAR professionally while working at customer facilities   Expect 25% of the role to include documentation and service reporting, with the majority focused on hands-on technical work in the field. This position could require regional day trips and occasional overnight stays. All travel is company paid. Qualifications What We’re Looking For We’re looking for technicians who enjoy solving technical problems, working independently, and supporting customers in the field. Successful candidates typically have: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organization and time-management abilities The ability to work independently while following established procedures Education & Experience Option 1 High School Diploma or equivalent 2–4 years of technical or field service experience OR Option 2 Associate degree or trade/technical school certification 1+ year of technical experience (including internship or apprenticeship) Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance Ability to operate personal, fleet, or rental vehicles Physical & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, and equipment handling Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment up to 125 lbs Regular use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment Time spent both on-site at customer facilities and documenting service work electronically If you enjoy hands-on technical work, travel, and supporting critical healthcare technology, EMSAR offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your career in field service engineering.
