Our dedicated and patient focused Occupational Therapists are responsible for evaluating patients and helping them improve basic motor function and reasoning abilities and compensate for permanent loss of function by teaching them to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments.  Also assist patients in selecting appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices when necessary.  This position fulfills these responsibilities while integrating company values into daily practice. 

This role is PRN and will work Day shifts as needed

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs patient assessment and establishes plan of care and treatment goals, then assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment when appropriate keeping in mind the educational and cultural needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and communicates accordingly to achieve maximum benefit of care.
  • Prepares plans for discharge.
  • Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress; applying appropriate standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for patients.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Control standards.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Requirements for consideration:

  • Two years’ direct patient occupational therapy care and treatment experience preferred. 
  • Experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred, we welcome recent graduates to apply
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in good standing is required.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR certification required.

Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:

  • A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.
  • Both gross and precise motor functions.
  • Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
  • Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
