Description

 Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

  • Fighting the region’s opioid epidemic
  • Providing behavioral health support for those experiencing homelessness
  • Lowering barriers to behavioral health for youth and adults who have had challenges accessing quality care
  • Specialists in serving the needs of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities
  • A family of caring and compassionate providers dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our community

We are looking for a Community Liaison to serve our Kent location! Our starting wages are between $23.00 to $25.39! The Community Liaison patrols a defined area to provide a reminder to our clients of their obligations to not linger in the area, not congregate on the corners, or around community businesses.  They are to provide a visual presence to help preserve community relations within the neighborhood surrounding our facilities. 


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Community Liaison reports directly to the Site Supervisor.


SCHEDULE: 

Monday through Friday 5:30AM to 2:00PM.


EXAMPLES OF WORK: 

1. Monitor the parking lot and defined areas around THS facility locations.

2. Receive training in de-escalation and demonstrate ability to de-escalate emotionally charged situations.

3. Help vehicles enter/leave the property safely.

4. Follow route as outlined on a map (if required) covering community “hot-spots” and being visually present 

5. Observes patient behavior, and reports to supervisor any suspicious behavior, like drug dealing, selling bottles, lock-boxes, etc. 

6. Ask clients to move along and not congregate on the sidewalks.

7. Ensures that individuals are smoking only in the designated smoking area. 

8. Be aware of client activity in the surrounding community.

9. Record documentable incidents on an incident report.

10. Ensure that parking lot is cleared of garbage and debris at least twice daily.

11. Sweep parking lot two times per month.

12. May be asked to assist with occasional cleaning inside or outside the building as needed.   

13. Interact with both clients and employees in a therapeutic and constructive manner.

14. Ability to enter timesheets, read and respond to emails and create incident reports in an electronic format.

15. Other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

1. Must be familiar with all safety regulations that apply to our facilities and client care. 

2. Must wear highly visible vest and other safety equipment as required. 

3. Must report any accidents or unusual occurrences immediately. 

4. Must be courteous and considerate to all clients and staff. 

5. Ability to project a positive image of THS while enforcing established policies and procedures. 

6. Must be trained on HIPAA and 42 CFR part 2 regulations and verbal de-escalation techniques.
