At Algas-SDI, the Engineering Documentation Specialist supports the integrity of engineering data across ERP and document management systems. This role is responsible for the creation and accuracy of component part numbers, bills of materials, technical documentation, and equipment document packages. Working within established engineering direction, the Specialist ensures that product data, change documentation, and contractual deliverables are complete, version-controlled, and audit-ready.
What you’ll do
- Create and maintain component part numbers, bills of materials, and item master records in the ERP system for engineering-controlled standard products.
- Develop and update technical documentation including manuals, technical bulletins, data sheets, test sheets, and performance specifications; verify accuracy and ensure compliance with contract document requirements.
- Prepare final equipment documentation packages and confirm they meet customer contractual obligations; maintain version control and filing accuracy across document management systems.
- Complete assigned Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices to support product maintenance; ensure engineering changes are reviewed, documented, and released on schedule.
- Assist the engineering team with component selection, design concept development, prototype builds, and testing.
What makes you a great fit
- High school diploma and 1 year of post-secondary technical coursework required; certificate or associate degree in engineering technology preferred.
- 2 years of professional experience in a technical, documentation, or manufacturing support role.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate written documents; strong attention to detail required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- ERP system experience preferred (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or equivalent); familiarity with item master records, BOM structures, and part numbering conventions a plus.
- Basic AutoCAD or DraftSight experience preferred.
- Document management system experience preferred (e.g., SharePoint, Windchill, or equivalent).
