Are you a Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN who enjoys hands-on patient care, teamwork, and a fast-moving clinical environment? Dermatology Associates of West Michigan is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Clinical Assistant to support our providers and help patients feel informed and cared for throughout their visit.
What you will do
- Room patients and obtain and document accurate medical histories
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, communicate relevant information to the provider, and document accurately in the electronic medical record
- Assist providers during examinations, diagnostic services, and in-office dermatology procedures; obtain required consents; and collect and prepare laboratory specimens
- Provide patient education and communicate results and treatment instructions as directed by the provider
- Document pathology results and coordinate recommended treatments and follow-up appointments
- Schedule appointments and treatments and respond to phone calls, portal messages, and correspondence
- Set up, monitor, and clean clinical equipment and maintain clean, well-stocked examination rooms
- Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and other assigned clinical responsibilities
What we are looking for
- Required: Current certification from Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician or an active Michigan LPN or RN license
- Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification at hire or within six months of hire
- Strong verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills with a professional, ethical, and patient-centered approach
- Accurate documentation skills and comfort working in an electronic medical record
- The ability to prioritize, stay organized, and work effectively as part of a clinical team
- Preferred: Two years of dermatology experience is preferred, but candidates with strong clinical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
Position details
- Full-time or Part Time positions available
- Professional, on-site clinical office environment with no supervisory responsibilities
