Lease Operator

Overview

The Lease Operator supports daily oil and gas field operations by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring production facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company safety, environmental, and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, experience in oil and gas production operations, and the ability to work independently in a field environment.

Responsibilities

• Non-scheduled callouts outside normal business hours can be expected.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Monitor and maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production facilities.
• Inspect equipment and identify operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Support daily production activities and assist with equipment optimization efforts.
• Read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational data.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve equipment and production issues.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Travel between field locations as needed to support operations.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of oil and gas production experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of production equipment and oil and gas field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between field locations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence. 
• Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty. 
• Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, and stopping are required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
