Position Summary

The Senior Facilities/Plant Engineer will support the Tex-Tech Coatings (TTC) division, overseeing equipment, facilities, and maintenance operations across multiple sites. This role ensures operational reliability, compliance, and efficiency while leading a team of maintenance professionals. Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and vendors is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead equipment and facility maintenance across TTC sites (Main Plant, External Warehouse, Weaving Facility).
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage boiler operation, electrical systems, compressed gases, water, refrigeration, and wastewater treatment for uninterrupted service.
  • Maintain emission control devices (Solvent Recovery Unit, Thermal Oxidizer, Water Scrubber) ensuring EPA compliance.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
  • Oversee installation, relocation, and modification of production equipment.
  • Ensure plant security, fire protection systems, and safety compliance.
  • Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to maintain quality standards and OSHA safety compliance.
  • Coordinate contractor activities for plant projects and maintenance functions.
  • Manage inventory control of maintenance materials, supplies, and spare parts.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and modify electrical and mechanical equipment layouts for optimal plant flow.
  • Support Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) planning.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and maintenance spend tracking.
  • Lead and manage capital projects from concept to completion.
  • Drive employee development, training, and succession planning.
  • Maintain and update plant drawings and schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related technical field).

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, plant engineering, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing maintenance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, and fabrication techniques.
  • Expertise in modern manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and machine-shop practices.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment and tooling problems.
  • Skilled in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoDesk, SolidWorks, and CAD design software.
  • Familiarity with computer-controlled machine tools, high-volume automated production equipment, and ERP systems.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, and training courses.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Comfortable with loud equipment, chemicals, and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, walk stairs, and stand on concrete floors.
