Are you an experienced heavy equipment or diesel technician who enjoys diagnosing and repairing equipment rather than simply replacing parts?

We are seeking an experienced Shop Service Technician at our Keyport, NJ location. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys diagnosing and repairing construction, industrial, aerial, and material handling equipment in a well-equipped shop environment. The successful candidate will have experience independently troubleshooting diesel engines, hydraulic systems, 24-volt electrical systems, CAN bus networks, and electronic controls while utilizing diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical test equipment to accurately identify and resolve equipment issues.

What You'll Do:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, service, inspect, and maintain a variety of construction, landscape, heavy, aerial, industrial, agricultural, and fleet equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, OEM scan tools, volt meters, wiring schematics, and service manuals to accurately identify equipment issues.
  • Diagnose and repair 24-volt electrical systems and CAN bus communication networks.
  • Complete preventative maintenance.
  • Document repairs, inspections, and service recommendations accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in paid and ongoing OEM and manufacturer training programs.
  • Full time - 40 hours per week with potential overtime during peak seasons.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience repairing construction equipment, heavy equipment, diesel equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial equipment, aerial equipment, fleet equipment, or related machinery.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and strong electrical and mechanical abilities.
  • Experience with welding/fabrication, DC electrical, hydraulic, combustion, and associated skill sets.
  • Ability to work with computers, schematics, repair manuals and warranty claims is an advantage.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent industry experience will qualify.

Estimated annual compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
