In support of the U.S. Navy’s PEO IWS-X initiative,Ā the Systems Engineer (System Integration)Ā is responsible forĀ designing, developing, integrating, andĀ optimizingĀ complex IT systems to enhance operational performance and reliability. This role evaluates technologies, implements system strategies, and ensures that infrastructure and mission‑critical systemsĀ remainĀ secure, available, and fully optimized. The Systems Engineer works across cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet technical requirements and support organizationalĀ objectives.Ā 

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Implement system strategies to enhance the performance, security, and availability of infrastructure and IT systems.Ā 

  • Evaluate technologies, tools, and products toĀ determineĀ suitability and alignment with organizational requirements.Ā 

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex IT systems to support operational needs and missionĀ objectives.Ā 

  • Execute system integration activities, including configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of solutions.Ā 

  • Ensure systems areĀ maintainedĀ atĀ optimalĀ levels through continuous monitoring, tuning, and performance analysis.Ā 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working with technical teams toĀ identifyĀ root causes and implement solutions.Ā 

  • Maintain documentation for system design, integration procedures, configurations, and operational processes.Ā 

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.Ā 

  • Support lifecycle management of infrastructure and systems, including upgrades, modernization, and technology transitions.Ā 

  • Provide technicalĀ expertiseĀ and recommendations to leadership, project teams, and stakeholders.Ā 

QualificationsĀ 

  • Active Secret ClearanceĀ requiredĀ 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.Ā 

  • 3–7 years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, or infrastructure engineering.Ā 

  • Hands‑on experience designing and integrating complex IT systems.Ā 

  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, storage, and enterprise infrastructure.Ā 

  • Experience with systems analysis, testing, and troubleshooting.Ā 

  • Familiarity with DoD, federal, or other regulated environments preferred.Ā 

  • ProficiencyĀ with system monitoring, configuration management, and integration tools.Ā 

  • Strong communicationĀ and documentation skills.Ā 

Preferred QualificationsĀ 

  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, or related technical credentials.Ā 

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GovCloud).Ā 

  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, scripting, or automation tools.Ā 

  • Experience supporting IT modernization or large‑scale system integration projects.Ā
