What we’re looking for in our Director – Technology Architecture & Engineering  

You are a technology leader skilled at solving complex challenges, guiding high‑performing teams and bringing innovative ideas to life. You are energized by architecting modern systems, elevating engineering practices and building technology that opens doors to simplified, connected healthcare for people living, working or traveling around the world.

You know what it takes to lead at the intersection of software engineering, enterprise architecture and emerging technology. You are excited about partnering with stakeholders across the business to enhance performance, modernize systems, strengthen security and deliver exceptional customer and employee experiences.

Here’s how you’ll help us build what’s next and shape how we serve our members:

Architecture & Technology Leadership 

• Set direction and provide hands‑on leadership across system and software architecture, including services, applications and databases.
• Ensure high‑quality technical documentation and project artifacts.
• Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies, systems and solutions.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement by identifying and leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning).
• Oversee secure software development and release management processes, including code reviews, comprehensive testing and resource allocation across multiple product platforms. 
• Evaluate and continuously monitor the application portfolio to identify opportunities for improvement, modernization and transformation.

Application & Platform Management 

• Provide ongoing management of business applications including BizTalk, SQL and Oracle databases, Salesforce, web services/API management, .NET solutions, and EDI/FTP integrations.
• Ensure timely issue resolution to minimize disruption to business operations.

People Leadership & Engagement 

• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, business leaders, and key technology partners to support enterprise priorities.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, proactive communication and shared accountability across engineering, architecture and QA teams.
• Lead a team of high performers by setting clear goals, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting employee development through regular evaluations and growth opportunities.

This might be the right fit for you if…

• You’ve put your degree in Computer Sciences or Computer Information Systems to good use and have proven experience with web services, API management, SQL, Oracle databases and BizTalk.
• With 10+ years in insurance, finance, or comparable fields, you bring proven expertise in navigating and leading within heavily regulated industries.
• With 5+ years of leadership experience, you champion great technology—and the people who power it.
• You thrive in a hybrid work environment and live within a commutable distance of our King of Prussia office. 
• Bonus points: You have experience in the international private medical insurance (IPMI) or travel insurance industry.
