Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions supporting advanced Agentic AI capabilitiesÂ
Architect and implement autonomous agent systems leveraging agentic workflows, reasoning engines, and multi-agent collaborationÂ
Integrate AI agents with enterprise applications and distributed systems using APIs, standard protocols, and modern software architecturesÂ
Manage the complete software development lifecycle from concept and design through deployment and sustainmentÂ
Develop clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient code following modern software engineering best practicesÂ
Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs supporting scalable and resilient applicationsÂ
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and mission stakeholders to rapidly deliver new capabilitiesÂ
Participate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, technical reviews, and retrospectivesÂ
Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliabilityÂ
Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance across cloud and on-premise environmentsÂ
Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating emerging AI frameworks, tools, and engineering approachesÂ

Qualifications:
Required:Â
Core Software Engineering ExperienceÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fieldÂ
5+ years of professional software engineering experience using object-oriented programming languages, with significant experience in PythonÂ
Strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenanceÂ
Proficiency with git, and experience with a modern source control platform (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar), including branching strategies, code review, and CI/CD pipelinesÂ
Experience with issue tracking and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence (or equivalents)Â
Experience developing microservices and RESTful APIsÂ
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environmentsÂ
Agentic AI & Modern AI DevelopmentÂ
Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agents in any context, including production systems, prototypes, or substantial personal projectsÂ
Hands-on experience with any agent framework (Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Pydantic AI, etc.). We care more about how you think about agent design than which framework you’ve used.Â
Familiarity with agent communication and tooling protocols (MCP, A2A), or experience implementing tool-use / function-calling in an LLM-based systemÂ
RAG architectures, vector databases, or agent memory systemsÂ
Prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks (Langfuse, MLflow, DSPy), or experience tuning LLM systems for reliabilityÂ
Collaboration & EnvironmentÂ
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering teamsÂ
Strong communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced technical environmentsÂ
Security RequirementsÂ
Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security ClearanceÂ
Willingness to be submitted for and ability to obtain a Counter Intelligence (CI) PolygraphÂ
Desired:
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or AzureÂ
Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments with HelmÂ
Experience with modern frontend development using React or AngularÂ
Familiarity with JavaScript and/or TypeScriptÂ
Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesÂ
Experience using modern development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jira, and ConfluenceÂ
IAT Level II or III certification (Security+, CISSP, CASP, etc.)Â

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
