Job Overview

As an Electrical Testing Technician, you are responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical power systems and related equipment within a laboratory testing environment. This role focuses on detailed analytical tasks and testing of protective relaying equipment, electrical panels, and other electrical devices and equipment installed in an equipment enclosure.

A Day In The Life

  • Verify proper component installation and connection per electrical drawings
  • Perform continuity checks of panels and electrical equipment using an Ohm Meter, wiring diagrams, and schematics, effectively troubleshooting when needed to ensure proper wiring
  • Perform megger testing or other Customer-required validations
  • Utilize testing equipment and power supplies to energize basic electrical equipment, including lights, HVACs, and inverters, protecting against improper wiring or design that would cause damage to equipment
  • Perform final quality and torque processes to ensure product completion and integrity
  • Assist engineering in the correction of wiring diagrams and schematic drawings in order to meet Customer design requirements
  • Work safely in and around energized electrical equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Preferred three years of experience in panel or enclosure wiring
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with using a multimeter for power and continuity testing
  • Basic troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work accurately under short deadlines
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel
