The Cath Lab Technician is knowledgeable in sterile technique and able to perform effectively as a scrub technician. Under the direction of a Registered Cath Lab Technician, assists in the total care of each patient. This person should possess and demonstrate current knowledge and skills necessary for the delivery of care and safetyfrom neonatal, pediatric, adolescence, adult to geriatric age (0 - 100+) and all developmental stages in the cath lab setting.
Requirements:
Must have 1-2 years hands-on cath lab trainingwhich can include time spent in an accredited Cath Lab Technician degree program with at least 2 semesters completed.Must be proficient in sterile technique and all scrub procedures. Must have knowledge of cath lab equipment and ability to troubleshoot.
Licenses and Certifications:
Registry as Cardiovascular Technologist must be obtained within three (3) years of employment in the cath lab.
