ADA Traffic Control, LTD is seeking a Flagger Field Supervisor in the Southern tier, Mid Hudson and Capital regions of New York and Western Connecticut area. ADA Traffic Control is a leading traffic control company that is family-owned and operated. ADA provides traffic control personnel for construction and utility work zones throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and New York. We also operate a busy Sales and Rentals business and a Security division. ADA is a rapidly growing company and offers an exciting and rewarding work environment.

The primary function of the Field Supervisor is to supervise Crew Leaders, Crew Members, Traffic Coordinators, Road Trainers, and Laborers. This position requires daily travel to year-round utility and seasonal construction job sites throughout New York and Connecticut. The Field Supervisor reports directly to ADA’s Operations Manager and works closely with other management team members and the dispatch team on a daily basis.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with overseeing employees to ensure they perform their duties in compliance with the Employee Manual, Safety Manual, MUTCD, Department of Transportation requirements, and OSHA standards.
  • Immediately correct employees observed performing duties incorrectly or unsafely by demonstrating and communicating proper methods.
  • Check on all jobs and employees within the designated area on an ongoing basis, with each job contact occurring at least once per week.
  • Communicate regularly with Contractors.
  • Identify unsafe situations and take immediate action to mitigate risks before employees, contractors, or members of the public are placed in danger.
  • File reports and forms electronically using a tablet, laptop, or other approved device.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when communicating with employees and contractors.
  • Fill in as needed in the absence of employees, including but not limited to flagging, laboring, and driving trucks.
  • Collect and deliver equipment to job sites and personnel.
  • Attend regular meetings and training sessions.
  • Be willing to accept a seasonal layoff ifrequired.

  • Ability to tow a trailer,operate a truck mounted attenuator or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to obtain ATSSA Flagger Instructor Training
  • Computer and internet proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT physical and medical card.
  • Availability for some nights, weekends, and overnight hotel stays will be required.

 Experience/Other:

  • Experience managing a regional workforce required.
  • ATSSA Certification preferred.
  • Traffic control and/or road work zone experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10, 30, or 40 certification preferred.
  • Must currently reside in the area of need or plan to relocate to the area within 45 days of accepting an offer.
