Physical Security Specialist

 

Summary:

The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for implementing the physical security and administrative security aspects of the information Security Management System.

This position needs to develop and enforce physical security policies, conduct regular security assessments, respond to security incidents to ensure in maintaining a secure environment, safeguarding facilities, assets, and personnel.

This role requires strong English language communication with other employees, both in written and verbal form. As there are security needs to be addressed for the entire site including office, manufacturing, and construction environments, this position will be required to perform the work in all these environments.

Key Ares of Responsibility:

Security Policies, Procedures, and Protocols Development

  • Maintain and develop security policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Train employees in security best practices and procedures
  • Create regular publications to promote security awareness

Security Assessment

  • Conduct security assessments and surveys to identify vulnerability, threats, risks and recommended improvements.
  • Respond to external and internal security audits

Physical Security System Management, Security Guard Force Management and Security Activities

  • Manage all aspects of the on-site physical security contracts including Guard Force, and Security Maintenance
  • Manage physical security system including CCTV system and access control system
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the organization's premises, including buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter fencing, to detect and deter security breaches, suspicious activities, and safety hazards
  • Manage security guards, contractors and third-party vendors providing physical security services, ensuring adherence to security standards, protocols, and performance expectations
  • Manage entry points including guardhouse, employee gate, and vehicle gate
  • Manage physical security devices including CCTV camera, badge reader, PIDS, X-Ray, WTMD, EAS, etc. maintenance

Security Incident Response

  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, including disturbances, medical emergencies, fires, and evacuations, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure safety of occupants
  • Collaborate with law enforcements, emergency responders, EHS including ERT, and other security professionals to coordinate responses to security threats, incidents, and emergencies, and provide assistance as needed
  • Conduct investigations into security incidents, thefts, property damage, and policy violations, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and documenting findings for further review and action
  • Complete detailed reports, logs, and incidents documentations on security activities, observations, and incidents, and maintain accurate records for violation point system, review and analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field experiences
  • 2+ years of managing physical security systems
  • 1+ years of experience managing contract security guards (or lead a team of guard’s experiences)
  • Knowledge of physical security systems including technical equipment (ACS, cameras, sensors, etc.)
  • Security-based certifications is recommended (i.e. CPP, PSP, CISSP)
  • Ability to write policies, guidelines and procedures at a professional level
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

  • May occasionally left and/or move up to up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Office Environment: Must wear company-provided uniforms.
  • Production Site: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.

Work Environment

  • Usual office environment, production, and construction sites
