Mechanical Engineer

Summary:


Battery equipment maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of equipment and machinery for the production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position will also need to cooperate with equipment engineers, controls engineers, production engineers, process engineers, production managers, and other teams to minimizing downtime, maximizing uptime, and optimizing production efficiency. This position will also need to interact with other teams and vendors to solve complex and/or urgent problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives or by providing needed information and advice. As working on 24/7 facility, this position may require on-call support on various circumstances. Candidate should be motivated problem solver that can provide creative solution approaches to your task with concern about effectiveness and quality that well based in the technology expertise and best practices.


Key Areas of Responsibility:


· Working in a cooperative team environment with Maintenance team members on emergency repairs, implementing corrective actions to achieve production milestone


· Troubleshoot / devise effective solutions to address challenges in equipment including emergency repairs on production equipment to minimize the downtime


· Oversee the new or modified production equipment installation & setup


· Analyze the equipment issues and develop the corrective actions


· Establish / perform preventive maintenance plan including regular overhaul


· Manage the spare parts & tools including purchasing order & safety stock management


· Develop engineering solutions for continuous improvement in the area of uptime, safety, and quality.


· Report key maintenance activities/results/indicators on a daily or weekly basis


· Revise / create the work instruction for training & provide the training for team members


· Continuously improve production environment with 5S & 3R standard


· Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:


· Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering (mechanical, electrical or similar)


· 3 years or more of relevant experience in maintenance of high-volume manufacturing






Preferred Qualifications:


· Battery maintenance experiences are appreciated. Or similar equipment experiences to each of battery manufacturing process like electrode, assembly, formation are preferred


· Experience with the new battery production equipment installation & setup

· Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.


Physical & Mental Demands


· Office Environment: Must wear company-provided uniforms.


· Production Site: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.


Work Environment


· Usual office environment, production, and construction sites


· Risks include noise (above 90 dB in compressor room), high temperatures (104–122°F in various rooms), and potential exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., heating medium oil, NMP, water treatment chemicals)
