The Guard Shack Attendant assists in the receiving process for the manufacturing facility and performs a variety of security, monitoring, and administrative tasks to ensure the safety and proper flow of personnel, visitors, and deliveries.

Scope of Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Lock and secure gated entrances and the building.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious behavior.
  • Inspect and patrol premises regularly, including front office areas.
  • Communicate effectively with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel when needed.
  • Monitor public access and ensure the security of all personnel and visitors.
  • Respond to alarms and review security footage to determine cause or threat level.
  • Maintain an activity log and prepare surveillance reports.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of product deliveries.
  • Accept and sign for deliveries from distributors.
  • Receive and verify the accuracy of product deliveries.
  • Read and interpret documents such as SDS, BOLs, and other shipping documents.
  • Adhere to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Provide technical information related to chemical safety.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on workers’ compensation claim management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Competencies

 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Technical Competencies

  • Good surveillance and observation skills.
  • Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures.
  • Understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
