Your Working Environment:
The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:

Leadership ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Interact and influence the Operations &Ā Multi FunctionalĀ team in a composite manufacturing and assembly environment.Ā 

  • Manage integratedĀ Multi FunctionalĀ Team to deliver priorities and work with functional directors to ensure correct support is in place.Ā 

  • Monitor and analyze the entire industrial flow in a composite manufacturing and assembly environment ensuring all activities are aligned with operationalĀ objectivesĀ and quality standards.Ā 

  • Actively lead, implement, and continuously improve the routines and standards according to the Airbus Operating System, using data/pareto analysis to address areas of opportunity/greatest importance.Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ root cause(s) ofĀ non qualityĀ andĀ eliminateĀ humanĀ factor, quality defects that occur in the production/manufacturing/assembly process.Ā 

  • Continuously improve and reinforceĀ a qualityĀ culture.Ā 

  • Act as a Focal Point and facilitator for Widebody VSM and central Airbus entities (OM, etc.)Ā

People-FocusĀ 

  • Contribute to a constant improvement in the working environment for the supplier by ensuring that the production facilities address any improvement opportunities.Ā 

  • Establish expectations forĀ high levelsĀ of flexibility and "multiple skill" requirements for the workplace and management.Ā 

  • Lead activities to ensure team membersĀ remainĀ motivated and engaged whileĀ maintainingĀ a positive team spirit.Ā 

  • UtiliseĀ an MFT to improveĀ work flowĀ and enhance existing processes, withĀ particularĀ focus on Delivery & Quality.Ā

ProductivityĀ 

  • Ensure delivery of finished product, in-line with agreed Quality gates.Ā 

  • Understand critical path items and any bottlenecks that mayĀ be inhibitingĀ our ramp up ability.Ā 

  • Drive actions and improvements to ensure successful completion of Quality Gates.Ā 

  • Ensure Performance Management Center includes PPC, SQCDP boards, OEEĀ Boards,Ā  DailyĀ QualityĀ Gate;Ā along with the knowledge transfer and Root Cause Analysis.Ā 

  • Responsible for the development of resource forecast requirements basedĀ on lineĀ balancing, activity sequencing of PPC, andĀ identifyingĀ the necessary skill sets required to achieve committed build.Ā 

  • Responsible for the prevention and elimination of disturbances in the manufacturing process.Ā 

  • Contribute to global ramp up governance andĀ identifyĀ key enablers.Ā 

  • Develop dynamic plans to ensureĀ OnĀ time and On Quality delivery of finished work packages to internal customers.Ā 

Ā 

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar required or equivalent work experience.Ā 

  • 8+Ā  yearsĀ of relevant work experience, IndustrialĀ EngineeringĀ or similar role.Ā 

  • Knowledge of production and quality rules in the aviation industry.Ā 

  • Lean manufacturing methodologies.Ā 

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, preferred fluency in another language (French, German, Spanish) is highly desirable.Ā 

  • TechnicalĀ proficiencyĀ in SAP and Google Workplace.Ā 

  • Communication and teaching skills.Ā 

  • Leadership and ability to convince.Ā

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able toĀ operateĀ most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.Ā 

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Ā 

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Ā 

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture andĀ some equipmentĀ and tools.Ā 

  • Sitting: able to sit forĀ long periodsĀ of time in meetings, working on the computer.Ā 

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.Ā 

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.Ā 

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.Ā 

  • Walking (includeĀ routine walking suchĀ as toĀ a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.Ā 

  • Personal Protective EquipmentĀ required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by supplier site.Ā Ā 

  • Administrative position only PPEĀ required: Steel-toed shoes areĀ requiredĀ for all shop floorĀ visits,Ā appropriate hearing/eyeĀ protection may also beĀ requiredĀ when visiting the shop floor.Ā
