D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Architect-WA. The right candidate will research, plan, and design building projects for single and multi-family housing. Ensure that all designs follow zoning laws and code regulations, and work with outside firms or other departments to facilitate the timeliness and quality of finished work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Establish the scope, budget, and schedule of a project, and ensure that the project remains within these parameters
- Consult internally to determine functional requirements of new designs and prepare information regarding specifications, materials, and construction time
- Undertake drafting duties using CAD software
- Maintain a knowledge of zoning laws and code regulations for the building region, and ensure that the designs follow these regulations
- Coordinate with other departments as needed
- Consult with outside firms as needed
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
- Three years of related experience with a building firm or architecture firm
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form or via DRH applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and peripheral vision
- The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
- State Architects License Registration (if required)
- Knowledge of graphics programs such as SketchUp is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail

Annual Salary $100,000 - $110,000 plus bonus potential!
