Position Summary
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing professional massage and body treatments to guests in a safe, effective, and guest‑focused manner. This role requires strong knowledge of massage techniques, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional wellness experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, or other specialty modalities based on training.
- Consult with guests to understand their needs, goals, medical considerations, and areas of concern.
- Maintain accurate and confidential guests' treatment records.
- Uphold cleanliness standards for treatment rooms, equipment, linens, and work areas, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage appointment schedules, start and end sessions on time, and provide high-quality customer service throughout the visit.
- Stay current on industry trends, continuing education requirements, and professional licensing standards.
- Collaborate with team members to support a positive, welcoming environment for all guests.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and code-of-conduct expectations.
Physical Demands
Must be able to:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, including entire work shifts.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Use, carry, and operate necessary Spa and office equipment requiring finger dexterity.
- Communicate effectively with guests, employees, and management through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Visually work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Adapt to moderate indoor temperatures, as the hotel environment is climate controlled.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state massage therapy license or certification (as required by local regulations).
Requirements:
- Must be available to work Weekends.
Education
- High School Diploma required.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role within the Spa industry.
- Must have working knowledge of general Spa modalities and professional Spa products.
