Position Title: Communications and Events Coordinator
Supervisor: Director of Development (or Chief Executive Officer)

The Communications and Events Coordinator plays a key role in advancing this mission by strengthening the organization’s visibility, community engagement, and fundraising efforts. This position leads communications and marketing execution, coordinates special events, and supports donor engagement and volunteer coordination efforts that strengthen long-term philanthropic support.
This role requires strong organization, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight. It is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys both storytelling and logistics, and who is energized by building meaningful community connections.

Duties and Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing
- Lead day-to-day execution of communications efforts, including social media, email campaigns, and donor-facing newslettersÂ
- Develop and schedule content across platforms to increase engagement, awareness, and philanthropic support of YWCA programs and initiativesÂ
- Create compelling messaging that supports fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and organizational storytellingÂ
- Assist with website updates to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational prioritiesÂ
- Gather and develop program highlights, impact stories, and visual content to support marketing and fundraising effortsÂ
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications and donor-facing materialsÂ
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to ensure accurate representation of services, outcomes, and impactÂ
Special Events
- Coordinate planning and execution of fundraising and community events, including the Keys of Hope Luncheon, Tribute to Women, and Diversity DayÂ
- Develop and manage event timelines, logistics, vendors, materials, and on-site operationsÂ
- Support fundraising goals including sponsorship tracking, ticket sales, and donor experienceÂ
- Manage event communications including invitations, registrations, reminders, and post-event follow-upÂ
- Collaborate with leadership and development staff to ensure strong donor engagement and consistent messagingÂ
- Provide on-site event support, donor engagement, and troubleshooting as neededÂ
Volunteer Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers across programs and eventsÂ
- Recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers to support organizational needsÂ
- Coordinate volunteer roles for events and ongoing program supportÂ
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and engagementÂ
- Develop and manage consistent volunteer communication and engagement processesÂ
- Support volunteer recognition and retention effortsÂ
Administrative & Operational SupportÂ
- Track and report on key marketing, communications, event, and donor engagement metricsÂ
- Maintain accurate donor, sponsorship, and event records within the organization’s CRM systemÂ
- Support donor stewardship activities, including timely acknowledgments, thank-you communications, and follow-up touchpointsÂ
- Assist with donor cultivation support for events and campaigns, ensuring a positive and consistent donor experienceÂ
- Support cross-departmental coordination to ensure alignment of messaging, fundraising priorities, and donor communicationsÂ
- Help maintain systems that support donor tracking, engagement history, and fundraising reporting accuracyÂ
- Assist with general administrative tasks related to communications, events, volunteer engagement, and development operationsÂ
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferredÂ
- 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, event coordination, or development supportÂ
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling content for donor and public audiencesÂ
- Experience supporting fundraising events, donor engagement, or stewardship activities preferredÂ
- Proficiency with social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva or similar)Â
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesÂ
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and strong initiative     Â
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of events and donor activitiesÂ

Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $45,000–$47,500 annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with flexibility for events
