Description
The Dock Solutions Technician Apprentice supports the installation, service, repair, and inspection of commercial and industrial overhead doors, loading docks, dock leveling systems, and related warehouse equipment. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to build a career in the dock and door industry through hands-on training, mentoring, and field experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, service, and repair of commercial and industrial doors, door operating systems, loading docks, and dock leveling equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on Bailey equipment and systems at customer locations under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues related to dock and door equipment.
- Support quality checks to ensure proper installation, balance, operation, and safety of equipment.
- Represent Bailey professionally while onsite by providing prompt, courteous, and safe service to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper use of tools and equipment.
- Complete required paperwork, service documentation, and reports accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
The individual in this position should be dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn. The ideal candidate is personable, mechanically inclined, and able to work well with customers, teammates, supervisors, and other vendors.
Education / Training / Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school coursework or hands-on experience in mechanical, industrial, or maintenance-related fields preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with tools, mechanical repairs, industrial maintenance, or construction is a plus.
- On-the-job training will be provided.

- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and standard work practices.

- Strong work ethic with reliable attendance and punctuality.

Licenses or Certifications Required
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
