Overview

Location: East Tennessee Behavioral Health, Knoxville, TN

Schedule: Full-Time; Monday–Friday business hours with one weekend per month of rounding and on-call coverage ($3,500 stipend).

East Tennessee Behavioral Health is a 90-bed acute inpatient behavioral health facility offering inpatient, IOP, PHP, and ECT services. We are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care to adults and adolescents throughout East Tennessee.

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health disorders, developing individualized treatment plans, managing medications, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certification in psychiatry
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
