Location: Knoxville TN

Salary: Highly Competitive Plus Benefits

Contract: Permanent, full time

Reporting to: VP of Construction

Your role in the mission:

The Senior Technical Project Manager serves as the primary program integration lead for the Infinity One construction program, supporting the VP of Construction in coordinating technical, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities across the project lifecycle.

Unlike field construction leadership roles that are responsible for daily construction execution, contractor management, and site operations, this position is accountable for integrating project workstreams across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Quality, Safety, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery and readiness for testing and operation.

The role acts as an extension of the VP Construction, driving alignment across stakeholders, managing interfaces and dependencies, monitoring program-level risks, and ensuring technical requirements are translated into executable plans.

What you’ll need:

Program Integration & Execution

  • Lead cross-functional integration of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Coordinate technical deliverables and project milestones to ensure alignment between engineering requirements and construction execution.
  • Identify and resolve interface issues between contractors, suppliers, engineering teams, construction organizations, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support the VP Construction in driving major program milestones and strategic project objectives.
  • Facilitate decision-making and issue escalation processes necessary to maintain project progress.

Integrated Planning & Project Controls

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules spanning engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Track program performance against milestones, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
  • Monitor critical path activities and coordinate recovery plans where schedule risk exists.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and program performance updates.

Technical Risk & Change Management

  • Lead identification and mitigation of program-level technical and execution risks.
  • Manage assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate readiness assessments and milestone reviews.
  • Facilitate cross-functional change control processes.

Commissioning & Operational Readiness

  • Coordinate commissioning planning activities across engineering, construction, quality, operations, and maintenance organizations.
  • Develop and track startup, turnover, and operational readiness plans.
  • Ensure procedures, documentation, training, and support materials are complete prior to system handover.
  • Track closure of punch-list items and technical actions required for successful startup.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a key coordination point between Type One Energy, TVA, engineering partners, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level project updates, milestone reviews, and status reports for leadership.
