Packaging Engineering Technician

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Under the general supervision of the Materials Laboratory Manager, the Engineering Technician performs a variety of test procedures to determine packaging performance capabilities for Kohler products. The technician observes, records, and reports data in detailed test documentation.

This role involves conducting routine projects and occasionally supporting initiatives led by the Packaging Engineering team and/or the North America Testing & Prototyping staff. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance and calibration, managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision, and working with lab management to prioritize daily workload.

 Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Packaging Engineering team to test and evaluate new and existing Kohler products.
  • Prepare and organize incoming test requests and samples, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of tests conducted, procedures followed, and results obtained. Report any anomalies that may impact test outcomes.
  • Coordinate and perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment in accordance with lab policies.
  • Develop and document standardized testing procedures.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives across Kohler Company by supporting engineering advancements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork in all interactions.

Skills/Requirements

  • Associate degree in an engineering-related field preferred, with at least one year of relevant experience; or high school diploma with a minimum of 7 years of product testing and development experience.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting tests.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
