The Senior Analyst – Shipment Planning serves as a strategic integrator who optimizes shipment execution across the K&B America network. This role ensures released shipments are planned and executed with precision—improving on‑time delivery, maximizing asset utilization, and reducing supply chain cost as a percentage of net sales.
Functioning with a founder’s mindset, the Senior Analyst blends operational expertise with a data‑driven, entrepreneurial approach—leveraging SAP, TMS, advanced analytics, and emerging AI tools to unlock insights, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement. By transforming complex data into clear, actionable intelligence, the Senior Analyst enhances planning effectiveness, strengthens cross‑functional alignment, and empowers the business to move faster and smarter.
With strong systems thinking and collaboration skills, this role ensures seamless coordination across platforms and partners—delivering reliable, efficient shipment plans that support customer commitments and operational excellence.
Specific Responsibilities
Shipment Planning Execution with TMS Collaboration:
- Execute shipment planning for K&B America sites in partnership with our external TMS provider, ensuring daily planned loads align with customer demand and distribution requirements.
- Maximize cube utilization and adhere to customer commitments through coordinated planning with the TMS partner. Follow service level agreements tied to Target milestones, value streams, and delivery priorities to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
Process and System Enhancement with TMS Integration:
- Drive implementation of the K&B America Supply Chain strategy through system and process improvements.
- Analyze, recommend, and implement enhancements to delivery creation, inventory allocation, load building, shipment consolidation, and routing—leveraging evolving capabilities from our TMS provider.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that elevate LOTIF performance, improve planning accuracy, and reduce total supply chain cost.
Data driven insights that Move our business forward:
- Act as a data entrepreneur—transforming large, complex datasets (SAP, TMS, WMS, carrier networks, customer signals) into clear insights that accelerate decision‑making, improve shipment flow, and unlock business value with integrity and curiosity.
- Leverage advanced analytics and emerging AI capabilities (predictive models, optimization algorithms, generative AI) to enhance responsiveness, automate routine analysis, and identify opportunities that improve on‑time delivery and reduce cost.
- Build scalable dashboards, early‑warning indicators, and performance tools that enable proactive Shipment Planning adjustments and strengthen the organization’s ability to anticipate risks and act decisively.
Problem Solving and Resolution:
- Identify, analyze, communicate, and proactively address order management bottlenecks.
- Monitor external supply chain risks, alert operations, and assist with contingency planning, collaborating with the TMS provider to navigate challenges.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain Associates, Warehouse Operations, Transportation, Customer Service, Supply and Demand planning, IT, etc.
Skills/Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the functional areas that contribute to supply chain planning or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Computer Information Systems or Business Analytics (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced MS Excel skills required; proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or other BI platforms
- Working knowledge of SAP (Order‑to‑Cash)
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Strong influencing and communication skills across multiple organizational levels
- Proven problem‑solving capability (5‑Why, RCA, or similar methodologies)
- Strong initiative, follow‑through, and ownership
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to balance service performance (LOTIF) and cost optimization
