Description

聽Job Summary:

The part-time Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the operating condition of all parish buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring that parish facilities remain safe, functional, clean, and welcoming. This position performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, utilizing a working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems to carry out assignments effectively.


In addition, the Facilities Coordinator oversees groundskeeping operations, including the upkeep and appearance of the parish's outdoor areas, such as landscaping, irrigation, walkways, parking areas, and general exterior maintenance.


This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and operates with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative in planning, prioritizing, and carrying out assigned responsibilities while ensuring alignment with parish policies and operational needs.


Ministerial Character

The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish of St. Anthony鈥檚, which the Bishop has entrusted to him. 聽He makes Christ鈥檚 mission present and enduring in the parish. 聽To fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable collaborators (clerics, religious, or laypeople). 聽He shares his mission with them and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed at St. Anthony鈥檚 help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. 聽Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to, and assists, the Pastor in the performance of his ministry, thereby engaging in ministry for the Church.

Essential Job Duties:

  • As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St. Anthony鈥檚 in both your professional and personal life.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
  • Participate in staff and parish functions, including religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities, as directed.
  • Maintain the operating condition, appearance, and functionality of all parish buildings, facilities, equipment, offices, workrooms, meeting spaces, kitchens, halls, classrooms, and grounds.聽
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities, equipment, fixtures, and parish property.
  • Help monitor janitorial and facility services to ensure work is completed as scheduled.
  • Support volunteer efforts and help with parish activities, including special events like Fiesta and committee projects.
  • Schedule and manage HVAC systems and Wi-Fi-enabled door access systems to support parish events, liturgies, meetings, and campus activities.
  • Ensure timely replacement of light bulbs and completion of routine facility maintenance tasks throughout campus buildings.
  • Follow established Diocesan safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Occasionally set up and arrange rooms and equipment for meetings and events in parish facilities.
  • Assist with seasonal church decorations and campus event preparation as needed.
  • Assist with groundskeeping and exterior maintenance, including debris removal, pressure washing, floor mat maintenance, and general outdoor cleaning.
  • Assist with landscaping upkeep, including mowing, blowing, trimming, weeding, irrigation monitoring, and general appearance of parish grounds.
  • Operate common hand and power tools safely and effectively and maintain familiarity with facility equipment and systems.
  • Maintain regular attendance and an established work schedule.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays as operational needs require.
  • Maintain on-call availability for facility-related emergencies.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and safely climb ladders as required to perform essential job functions.
  • Perform additional duties and provide support services as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the structure and basic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
  • Basic knowledge of the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems found in a small to medium-sized multi-use church campus.
  • Intermediate ability to repair, maintain facilities, equipment, and systems and/or manage contractors.
  • Skill in verbal and nonverbal communication.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to maintain respect at all times.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently at a fast pace, have attention to detail, and perform repetitive jobs.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 80 pounds.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate in English.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Training:

路 High School diploma or GED equivalent is required

Experience:

路 Three to five years of experience working in facilities management聽

路 Experience working within the Catholic community is preferred

Catholic Requirement:

路 A practicing Roman Catholic in good standing is required

Licenses/Certifications:

路 Valid Texas (Class C) driver鈥檚 license

路 Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies


Working Conditions:

路 All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.聽

路 Parish is an at-will employer.

路 All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco-free.

路 Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.

路 Working on weekends and evenings, and some holidays, may be required.

路 Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.聽

路 Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.

路 May be required to use personal or parish vehicle to drive to off-site locations.

路 Traveling within and outside the parish to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may require overnight lodging.聽
