The Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is searching for two passionate educators with expertise in general exercise science, exercise physiology, and/or anatomy and physiology courses to join our team. We are seeking two (2) fulltime, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions that will begin in the fall of 2026 (the possibility for a spring 2026 hire does exist).

Under general supervision of the department chair, successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses (if applicable) and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes, teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating studentsâ work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active, on-going program of scholarship appropriate to their discipline. In addition, faculty provide service to the department, college, university, community and/or professional organizations. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.Â

Required Qualifications:
- Candidates for the appointment should have or be near to completing a doctorate degree in exercise and sport science, anatomy and physiology, or a closely related field (by the end of the first academic year).

- Experience in teaching courses at the university-level in exercise science
- Expertise in anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, and/or general exercise science courses
- Evidence of an emerging research agenda related to exercise science
