PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assists assigned persons with developmental disabilities to acquire functional and vocational skills needed to live as
independently as possible within their homes and communities consistent with their stated needs, goals and choices.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday: regular business/program hours with scheduling flexibility to work variable hours as needed to appropriately carry out duties and responsibilities effectively, especially related to participating at staffing's for persons served outside regular business/program hours, to attend scheduled meetings deemed mandatory by management.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED (Required)
EXPERIENCE Six months successful work/volunteer experience with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Driver's License.
- Certificate of Proof of Insurance and maintenance of such at
- minimum amount of coverage required by law.
- Defensive driving.
- Possess or acquire within first ninety days of employment, First
- Aid, C.P. R., updating as required by licensing agency.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Principles of English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation.
ABILITY TO: Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception for:
- reading and writing;
- completing standardized forms
- operating assigned equipment/vehicles
- observing, assisting, training, and assisting persons served
