We're hiring for a part-time Dietary Assistant!


4 p.m. - 7 p.m. and e/o weekend (PT)

Job Summary: Dietary Assistants are often responsible for making sure that all meals are properly prepared, and in accordance to the direction of the overseeing dietitian or nutritionist. The Dietary Assistant also assist with arranging tray cards, loading food carts, and making sure that proper portion control protocols are met.

Understands and carries out safe and sanitary food handling practices, which includes a fresh sanitation bucket for each meal

· Organizes food in cold cart correctly; ensures no spaces are left vacant.

· Carries through with all pink slips prior to leaving at the end of their shift, including noticing if/when a diet card is incorrect or missing.

· Prepares all plates according to resident requests and specified diets.

· Follows specific portion sizes for each item to ensure we are following regulations.

· Assists residents, and guests, with any special requests they make during meals.

· Removes all dirty pans and dishes in a timely manner.

Takes them to kitchen and removes leftover food.

Cleans hot and cold carts with sanitizer nightly.

· Employee ensures all before, during and after side-work is complete, prior to checking out each night.

· Employee takes temperatures of all food items, and documents accordingly before serving to ensure safe food practices are being followed.

· Ensures all residents were accounted for and fed. Any guests are to be documented as so in specified area and charged by following procedure. All meals are counted for following meal service.

Ensures all coolers and freezers are clean and free of filth. All items in these areas are resident items, which include dates and labels.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience with following proper food service procedures.
  • Ability to give timely and accurate service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, families, and employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required or in process of receiving
  • Sanitation certification
