Summary Design circuit board layouts with minimal direction from engineering, coach and advise PCB Specialists on tools and techniques.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain circuit boards and associated documentation including layouts, gerbers, population files and BOMs.
  • Design printed circuit boards from a schematic for use in new and existing products.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments on an as needed basis relating to circuit board layouts.
  • Provide design files to Purchasing group as required.
  • Utilize circuit board layout software as required, including output generation and revision control.
  • Provide Manufacturing with board population information to fabricate board assemblies.
  • Coordinate design review and checklist completion for circuit board per applicable standards.
  • Maintain proficiency in technical tools required for the job including current trends, training programs, design methodologies and new software.
  • Confer with outside suppliers or technical sources to meet the design objectives required.
  • Recommend design improvements, new techniques or procedures to the Engineering Leader.
  • Provide technical support to the Purchasing group relating to supplier questions with regards to design package.
  • Utilize, maintain and support the Grayhill corporate library of parts.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and six to eight years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
