Job DetailsJob Location: La Mirada, CA 90638Position Type: PRNEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $21.00 - $27.32 HourlyJob Shift: AnyJob Category: Ancillary / OtherCOOK Vista Specialty Hospital   Cook Summary: Prepares and serves food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and in an attractive manner in accordance with established standards. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards. Coordinates and assists in the overall functions of the Food Service department. Works with Registered Dietitian to ensure provision of adequate nutrition services for quality patient care. Coordinates with Director to ensure the daily operations of the dietary department are carried out. Prepares, seasons and cooks’ food for facility patients, employees, visitors, and for special functions. QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; experience cooking ( 2 years) required in lieu of education. Able to read and write in English language. Licenses/Certification: Food Management Certificate required within 6 months of employment. Experience: Possess the basic understanding of modified diets, and three years in commercial or institutional  food preparation,  or  two years’ experience in an assistant cook position, or an associate degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts. Healthcare experience preferred.  Safety Sensitive-Designated Position
