Overview

The Stronghold Companies is seeking an IT Access Control Technician to support user provisioning, account administration, and access management across our enterprise systems. This role ensures employees have the correct access to applications, network resources, and Microsoft services while maintaining accuracy, security, and compliance.

This is a hybrid role based in the La Porte/Pasadena, TX area.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Active Directory
  • Manage security groups, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes in AD and Exchange Admin Center
  • Maintain network folder permissions and respond to access requests
  • Provision access for business applications and IT systems based on approved processes
  • Support onboarding and offboarding with correct access setup and removal
  • Handle basic troubleshooting for access and login issues
  • Assist with documentation and support for audit and compliance reviews
  • Work closely with IT, HR, and department managers to ensure timely access setup

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of the job, an IT Access Control Technician is occasionally required to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit and lift up to 20 pounds.

     

    Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

     

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience

    • 1–3 years of IT experience, ideally in access administration or help desk
    • Working knowledge of Active DirectoryExchange Admin Center, and user provisioning
    • Understanding of network folder permissions and application access
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
    • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Exposure to ERP or enterprise applications (e.g., Dynamics, Coupa, etc.)
    • Familiarity with IT compliance, access reviews, or audit processes
    • Interest in growing skills in identity governance and automation
