Janitor

Cenveo, a world leader in the manufacturing of envelopes, is seeking a Janitor in its City of Industry, CA facility.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment throughout the facility, including some production and offices areas. Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision, supporting the health and safety of employees and visitors by upholding high standards of cleanliness.

Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes lobby, restrooms, corridors, stairways and other work areas.
• Cleans breakroom: sweeps and mops floors, wipes down tables and counters and cleans microwaves.
• Cleans floors, vacuums carpeted areas.
• Cleans, dusts and wipes down surfaces, including windows, walls, furniture and frequently touched areas.
• Washes windows, door panels and sills.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Replenishes restroom and breakroom supplies.
• Maintains stock of cleaning supplies, toiletries and trash liners.
• Understanding of safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning products and cleaning equipment.
• Communicates with management all maintenance and safety issues.
• Ability to work and communicate with others.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job includes required regularly to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, twist, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and an ability to adjust focus.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust, cleaning chemicals and exposure to noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and requires hearing protection.
• Warehouse and plant environment with exposure to cold, heat, dust and noise.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior experience in maintenance/housekeeping.
• Ability to perform essential job duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb for long periods of time.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying cleaning or maintenance needs.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Understanding safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning products and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, vendors.
• This position requires an ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
