Help Evaluate the Next Generation of Airmen and Guardians

ABSS Solutions is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to support the Headquarters Air Force Accessions Center in evaluating applicants for military service. Unlike traditional outpatient practice, this role emphasizes psychological evaluations, medical record review, military medical standards, and multidisciplinary consultation supporting accession decisions.

Who We're Looking For:  We're looking for experienced Clinical Psychologists who enjoy applying sound clinical judgment within a structured, evidence-based evaluation environment. Rather than providing ongoing therapy, this role focuses on conducting objective psychological assessments, reviewing behavioral health documentation, and providing well-supported recommendations regarding accession eligibility under established Air Force medical standards.

The ideal candidate understands the importance of balancing clinical expertise with consistency in decision-making. They possess strong analytical and written communication skills, are comfortable evaluating complex behavioral health histories, and can clearly articulate recommendations supported by clinical evidence and applicable policy. Candidates who have experience with military populations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, disability assessments, medical evaluation boards, accession screening, or other forensic or occupational psychology settings will be particularly successful in this position.

We're seeking professionals who value collaboration, continuous learning, and quality improvement while contributing to a mission that directly supports the readiness and resilience of future Airmen and Guardians.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological evaluations supporting accession determinations.
  • Review behavioral health records.
  • Conduct telehealth interviews when required.
  • Develop clinical summaries and recommendations.
  • Apply Air Force and DoD mental health standards.
  • Collaborate with Flight Surgeons and Aerospace Medical Technicians.
  • Participate in quality reviews and policy implementation.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Current unrestricted psychology license.
  • Minimum three (3) years serving as a Military Biomedical Science Corps Officer/Psychologist within the past fifteen (15) years.
  • Experience conducting military psychological evaluations.
  • Experience applying military medical standards.
  • Experience supporting special duty or accession evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace Medicine experience.
  • Medical Evaluation Board experience.
  • Waiver review experience.
  • Director of Psychological Health experience.
  • Military operational psychology experience.

Why Join ASI

  • Government-approved telework available based on mission needs.
  • Evaluation-focused clinical practice.
  • Stable Monday-Friday schedule.
  • Direct impact on Air Force readiness.
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary team.
