About the Role:
The Great Greek in San Antonio, TX is looking for a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute menu items according to The Great Greek's recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout each shift
- Operate grills, fryers, sauté stations, and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Monitor food freshness, portion sizes, and presentation for consistency
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service during peak hours
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
- Assist with prep work including chopping, marinating, and stocking stations
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (Food Handler Certification a plus)
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for food quality and delivering a consistent guest experience
