Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Â
Receives sorts and distributes incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail ensuring timely and quality service to all hospital departments.Â
Essential Job Functions Â
Process in-house mail for mailing. Daily processing and running of mailroom equipment. Records and reorders mailroom supplies. Answers employees’ questions regarding mailing rates and more. Works closely with office receptionist and works directly with the USPS to ensure that employees have access to the postage and shipping items they need at all times.Â
Handling mail outs for special projectsÂ
Run reports and provide detailed month end reports. Trains other mail clerkson how to uphold policies and procedures. Balance work schedule to meettime lines and deadlines as the organization needs.Â
Pick up incoming mail for the hospital. Receives stacks of bundled mail fromUSPS mail carriers. Loads mail onto a cart which is taken throughout thefacility for delivery to the proper employees. Picks up outgoing mail andpackages for delivery to the USPS. Weighs items that will be mailed andaffixes the proper postage.Â

Must become proficient with postal regulations and in use of all mailroom equipment within 90 days. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Communicate effectively with variable cultural and educational backgrounds. Must be able to work independently and self-directed. Possesses strong organizational and clerical skills in order to ensure that every package and letter is delivered to the correct individual on time.Demonstrates strong computer skills for the purposes of data entry and reordering supplies as necessary.
