Birch Agency is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers for multiple self-contained classroom opportunities in elementary school settings across South Carolina. These positions offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in structured, supportive environments.

Emotional Disabilities (ED) Self-Contained Classroom

Location: Ladson, SC
Setting: Elementary School

Position Overview
This role supports students in an Emotional Disabilities (ED) program, providing individualized academic and behavioral support to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Provide differentiated instruction aligned with students academic and emotional needs

  • Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff

  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers

Qualifications

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities preferred

  • Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills

  • Passion for supporting elementary-aged learners

  • Ability to collaborate within a team-based environment


Pre-School Self-Contained Classroom

Location: Wando, SC
Setting: Elementary School

Position Overview
In this role, you will work with preschool-aged students requiring specialized instruction and early intervention support, helping build foundational academic, social, and developmental skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IEPs

  • Provide developmentally appropriate instruction

  • Support early childhood development including communication, social-emotional, and motor skills

  • Implement positive behavior supports

  • Track student progress and maintain documentation

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families

Qualifications

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Experience working with early childhood or preschool-aged students preferred

  • Knowledge of early intervention strategies and developmental milestones

Pre-School Self-Contained Classroom
