Special Education Teacher Emotional Disabilities (ED) Program

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support an Emotional Disabilities (ED) program in an elementary school setting in Ladson, SC. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a structured and supportive environment.

Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher in the ED program, you will work with elementary-aged students who require individualized instruction and behavioral support. Youll collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning experience tailored to each students needs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide differentiated instruction aligned with students academic and emotional needs
Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
Communicate effectively with families and caregivers

Qualifications

Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities preferred
Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
Passion for supporting elementary-aged learners
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
