Description

To perform various welding processes in accordance with a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), layout, fitting, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform and pass GMAW-Pulse in the 2G and 3G welding positions.
  • Ability to perform and pass GMAW-Pulse in the 4G welding position preferred.
  • Experience with GMAW-Spray preferred in the 2G welding position.
  • Experience with FCAW preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of temperature stick usage and preheat techniques.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
  • Minimum of five years of welding experience.
  • Must have attention and care to prevent injury to others when performing work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment successfully.
  • Must perform tasks safely as instructed orally and in written format.
  • Must have knowledge of the metric system.
  • Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to read measuring taps and calipers.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; five years of related experience.
  • Must become forklift and crane certified through the Pegasus Steel’s internal training.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel required Inter-facility and training purposes as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
