Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive, evidence-based primary care services for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an outpatient practice setting. Delivers preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, coordination of care, transitional care management, and support for population health and quality initiatives in alignment with organizational goals. Practice setting is outpatient primary care only.

Base Salary Range $265,000.(min) - $280,000. (max) Annually
Productivity and performance-based incentive bonus potential

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services for patients across the primary care/specialty age spectrum, including preventive care, annual wellness visits, chronic disease management, and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage common medical conditions seen in family medicine or internal medicine practice using evidence-based clinical standards.
  • Perform age- and condition-appropriate history and physical examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and screening tests as clinically indicated.
  • Prescribe medications and other therapies in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide counseling and education regarding disease prevention, health maintenance, nutrition, medication adherence, and lifestyle modification.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, care management teams, and community resources to support continuity of care.
  • Review and respond to laboratory, imaging, medication refill, referral, and patient message workflows in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record; EPIC experience preferred, training provided as applicable.
  • Participate in departmental, medical group, and hospital meetings, including quality, safety, access, patient experience, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational goals related to patient access, panel management, productivity, clinical quality metrics, and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to promote efficient practice operations and a high-reliability care environment.
  • Supervise and/or collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, medical assistants, and other care team members as assigned.
  • Participate in call coverage, inbox coverage, and other physician coverage responsibilities consistent with practice and organizational standards.
  • Participate in education activities and, where applicable, support the teaching of students and/or residents.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Successful completion of an accredited United States residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted Virginia medical license, or eligibility for Virginia licensure.
  • Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Candidate must demonstrate commitment to clinical quality, service excellence, professionalism, and collaboration across the healthcare system.
  • Bilingual skills may be considered an asset based on community and practice needs.

Compensation Pay Range:
