RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and provide technical guidance for the safe design, operation, and lifecycle management of chemical production processes.
  • Oversee the site Process Safety Management (PSM) program, including Process Safety Studies, hazard analyses, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process safety standards, procedures, and compliance tools aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and review performance against HS&E KPIs and behavioral trends, taking corrective actions to improve performance and resolve non-compliance.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to enhance process safety, ESH goals, and foster a strong safety culture across the site.
  • Manage, mentor, and empower staff, ensuring resources, performance accountability, and leadership development within the team.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, cGMP, and SISPQ standards, while actively participating in ESHS programs, including hazard identification, incident reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, stay current with regulatory changes, and incorporate industry best practices to strengthen site process safety performance.


REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; MS preferred; at least 10 years of experience managing process safety in an OSHA-PSM regulated site/industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of process safety, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations, incident investigations, and other U.S. process safety requirements.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and direct personnel and resources to achieve objectives within defined timelines.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge to act independently while providing guidance, training, and clear communication on planning, prioritizing, and executing activities.
  • Skilled at identifying process weaknesses, managing risks, and implementing technical solutions and action plans to achieve sustainable compliance.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills, including data analysis, reporting, and effective use of standard office and software tools.
  • Ability to represent the site during regulatory inspections and ensure policies and procedures align with organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Passion for safety and commitment to fostering a strong safety culture, including guidance on safe systems of work and continuous improvement.
