Acadian Client Services is seeking an Insurance Verifier to join the ATAC (Acadian Transport Assistance Center) Department in Lafayette, LA.

Job Location: Lafayette, LA. This position is based in the office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This is NOT a Work From Home position.

Summary of Duties: Responsible for verifying all required information necessary to prepare accounts for submission to the third party payor as well as submit for pre-authorizations when required and maintaining of prior authorization status queues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance information including eligibility, copay, deductibles and out of pockets
  • Handle incoming calls, for specific payor units
  • Initiate contact with patient/guarantors, third party payors, and facilities
  • Ensure accuracy of demographic information
  • Handling of outgoing authorization requests for insurance
  • Maintaining of various queue work to check for authorization status to add to invoices
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Google, MS Office Suite or related software  
  • Previous medical billing experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers and patients 
  • Professional work ethic and dress code
  • Ability to adhere to productivity goals, departmental and company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Punctual with strong attendance history
